![]() Please tell me that how can i use this layout for typing urdu in lunix. ![]() Muhammad_Raza wrote:In windows I use Inpage Monotype(r) Keyboard Layout for typing urdu in different applications … Seems to work Pressing Space again will change back to English. I don't know Urdu but typing "abcde" I get "ابچدع". If you type now, Urdu glyphs will appear. Now for example open Gedit from your menu and with the focus on Gedit press Space or select "Urdu - phonetic (m17n)" from the status icon. Click the selection box again and scroll down to Urdu. Click the selection box and choose "Show all input methods". Go to the Input Methods tab and tick the box "Customize active input methods". You'll also notice a keyboard icon in your status area which you can later also use to change layouts. You can see the default keyboard shortcut to change layouts is set to Space. Press Ok on the next dialog and the IBus Preferences window opens. It will ask you if it should start the IBus Daemon. Code: Select all apt update & apt install ibus ibus-gtk ibus-gtk3Īfterwards find and open "Keyboard Input Methods" from your menu (just start typing in your menu to find it).
